Sutton Tools go live with Microlistics WMS Enterprise

Highlights of the implementation include new picking strategies designed to increase productivity and throughput.  The streamlined pick and pass process have already improved accuracy and efficiency at order consolidation.

The implementation featured integrations with Infor ERP, multiple Kardex vertical carousels, a pick-to-light bench, a Cubiscan dimensioning system and a multi-carrier fulfilment solution. Concurrent with the deployment was deployment of a new range of Zebra Technologies RF mobile computers/scanners and printers.

The solution design, software deployment and staff training were undertaken mostly under social distancing constraints imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Microlistics and Sutton Tools utilised Microlistics’ project methodology specifically adapted to COVID-19 restrictions to successfully achieve all key project milestones while keeping health and safety at the forefront.

The company’s Melbourne based manufacturing and distribution operation is the first Sutton Tools site to benefit from the new WMS, with deployments to international distribution centres to follow.

Congratulations again to the team at Sutton Tools especially James Clark, Neville Taylor and Oliver Petautschnig, who have been fantastic to work with. We look forward to continuing our collaboration, driving ongoing improvements across the Sutton Tools supply chain.
