Productivity improvements are achieved through products being traceable by batch and/or serial number, product code, expiration date etc. Products are also stored in their most suitable location based on specific product characteristics, eliminating unnecessary travel and product damage, whilst also providing better utilisation of the available space.
In an ISIS managed warehouse, all tasks are coordinated by the system's intelligent rules-based engine that ensures picking, putaway and despatch functions are performed with a near zero error rate.
Recognising that different clients or products require different pick and putaway options, ISIS allows you to set-up different operating environments within the warehouse that will reflect these needs. For example, some of the picking options ISIS provides include discrete, batch, wave, bulk and each picking.
Microlistics has designed a pick-to-light trolley (shown in the picture below) that has improved picking productivity for a number of our clients. It allows up to four orders to be picked simultaneously without compromising accuracy.
Inventory Rotation / Expiration Date Control
Inventory can be rotated and picked according to pre-determined rules (such as FIFO - First In First Out), ensuring that all products picked for order fulfilment are well within their shelf life. This minimises product wastages that can be costly to your organization, and in the case of third party providers, costly to your clients.
Stocktake Simplicity and Accuracy
 |
In addition to advanced cycle counting functionality, ISIS makes stocktaking quicker and simpler to execute by providing all documentation requirements in an easy to use format. There is also less administrative preparation required as reports are generated from the system. Not only does this minimise the human resources required to undertake a periodic stocktakes, but there is less interruption to daily business operations. |
ISIS facilitates the use of 'smart' picking methods, such as wave picking, to improve order completion rates and minimise fork truck and operator travel.
ISIS automates the process of handling both goods damaged whilst in the warehouse, as well as the return of damaged goods shipped to your client. This minimises confusion and unnecessary stock write-offs.
Replenishment of pick faces is handled automatically by ISIS when stock in each pickface reaches a pre-determined level. This ensures that stock is where it should be prior to picking orders being released.
