Microlise has recently launched their 'Generation 4' RFDTs. These state-of-the-art products are the result of 18 months hard work and an R&D investment of over $2 million. Developed in Great Britain and designed as 'future-proof' products, the Tracer 4, Traker 4 and RuggedScanner 4 are at the cutting edge of RF hardware technology.
TRAKER 4
The TRAKER 4 has been designed to provide maximum performance, ergonomic in design and its PCMCIA flexibility makes it the most advanced radio terminal available as it is capable of supporting future technologies.
TRAKER 4 has a 65 key alphanumeric keyboard that has been designed with the user in mind. This makes training and usage of the system by operators quick and simple. The unit also provides access to setup, diagnostics & information menus, making it easy to use.
The unit has a quick release bracket, making the process of porting the unit between vehicles fast and efficient.
TRACER 4
TRACER 4 hand held terminal has been ergonomically designed for all day usage. Like TRAKER 4, TRACER 4 is already capable of supporting new and future developments in technology.
Two options are available for the Tracer 4. The first is an extended range version that is capable of reading a barcode from just 4 inches to 35 feet - a feature never before offered in a hand held RFDT. The second is a "Fuzzy Logic" version that is capable of scanning barcodes of the worst possible quality. This version automatically scans the barcode 36 times a second until an image is generated in memory. Allowing almost unreadable barcodes to be scanned with ease.
Another feature of the Tracer 4 handheld scanner (and the Traker 4 vehicle-mounted radio terminal) signifies a breakthrough in engineering excellence. With other scanners unable to function in extreme cold, the Tracer 4, RUGGED SCANNER 4 and Traker 4 can withstand continuous operation at temperatures as low as -30 degrees centigrade. This has significant implications for all 'freeze room' manufacturers and warehouse operators wanting to gain the advantages of an RF system.
The new Microlise products are also very durable. The Xenoy plastic used as casing has exceptional sealing capabilities, preventing the intrusion of dust and water even in wet and dirty environments. The Traker 4 can withstand a 50G shock load and still function normally, whilst the Tracer 4 and RUGGED SCANNER 4 will function normally after being dropped on concrete from a height of two metres.
RUGGED SCANNER 4
The RUGGED SCANNER 4 is both durable and reliable, providing accurate RF results for various warehousing and distribution functions. Withstanding the harshest environments, this hand held barcode scanner has been built to be so durable that it can withstand a two metre drop.
A feature of the RUGGED SCANNER 4 is its use of precision optics and electronics, improving recording accuracy for most colour and thermal or carbon based labels, as well as Low Frequency (eg. TIRIS), or High Frequency (eg. Tag-it or I.Code) tags. Like TRACKER 4, RUGGED SCANNER 4 has two options; the use of an extended range version that is capable of reading a barcode from just 4 inches to 35 feet as well as the "Fuzzy Logic" version, which reads the worst quality possible barcodes.
